OUR PROJECTS

The Foundation of Stars has existed for over 38 years. It’s primary mission has always been research into children's diseases.

The Knights of Pythias has been associated with the FOUNDATION OF STARS since 1977.  We were on scene with the first production of the Téléthon des étoiles (The Telethon of Stars), produced throughout Québec, in French and English by CFCF 12.

In 1996 the Board of Directors is created.  It is composed of representatives from service clubs, (proudly, the Knights of Pythias were front and center) regional representatives and members not affiliated with a club, who are corporate partners with the Foundation.

Countless millions of dollars have been raised for pediatric research in Quebec since its conception.  This year's goal, the raising of 3 million dollars will soon be realized.







One of the most important beliefs of Knights Of Pythias is that it is important to help the community, in whatever way we can and to continue and follow up with our projects.


On August 23, 2015, we continued our support of the B'Nai Brith House (see below for our 2014 commitment).

This is our second year participating in the PEDAL TOGETHER PROJECT!

Sir Michael Kutz, a Holocaust survivor, has dedicated so much time and efforts speaking to the public about his horrible experiences, growing up as a Jew during the worst period in history.

On November 10, 2014, Sir Michael was one of four holocaust survivors/writers who spoke to high school students in Montreal, telling them never to forget your past!

Throughout the year Michael continues to speak to young people and to spread his message:  Never forget your past.

Michael is the author of the book:  IF BY MIRACLE  his story of growing up as a Jewish boy in Eastern Europe during the Holocaust, which has been published as part of the Azrieli Series of Holocaust Survivor Memoirs.

One of the most important beliefs of Knights Of Pythias is that it is important to help the community, in whatever way we can.

Our volunteers bring a little bit of joy by sponsoring shows and entertainment to many Montreal Institutions.

Thus in addition to other types of volunteering, the Knights of Pythias of the Domain of Quebec run a number of projects, including projects at:

B'nai Brith House
 

On Sunday, September 14, 30 volunteer riders mounted this bike for a 10 kilometer ride through Cote St-Luc, in support of the B'Nai Brith House.

Among these volunteers were a few members of the Knights of Pythias.

Out for a pleasant ride that quiet Sunday morning were Pythians:  DSC John Derrick, Sir James Indig, GP Michael Berman and GVC Calvin Finkelstein.

At the end of the ride, the B'nai Brith House was able to raise over $25,000, with a generous contribution of $1,800 raised by Grand Lodge, Knights of Pythias.
